Meet Kelli Robinson

Hi — I'm Kelli, the founder and lead educator of Roots and Wings Learning Circle. I started this pod because the kind of school I wanted for my own kids didn't exist within driving distance, so I built it.

My Journey

Before this, I sold Herbal Energetics, a medicinal plant business I ran for years before turning my full attention to this next chapter. That work taught me more than I expected to carry into a classroom. Plants don't yield their lessons quickly, and they don't yield them to anyone in a hurry. You have to slow down, get your hands dirty, notice things, and let the same patch of ground teach you something different in every season. That's also how kids learn, when we let them.

Building the business itself was its own education. Nothing meaningful gets built quickly. The plan is going to change twice before lunch. The only way through is to keep showing up. Those turned out to be teacher skills.

So in our circle, we step outside as often as we can. We ask the kind of questions that don't have a single right answer. We pay attention. We honor what shows up.

The most important part of my background, though, is being a mother. Watching my own kids figure out who they are has rewired what I think school is supposed to do. It's not about making children fit a curriculum — it's about building a place where the curriculum fits them.
